What is the best way to connect multiple case fans?

david cassar

I am planning to move my build into a new case since my current case is pretty bad and there isn't any airflow. I'm thinking of getting 3 intakes and an exhaust. The problem is that the 3 intakes all have a 3 pin connector and my motherboard only has one. What is the solution? Do i get some 3 pin to molex adapters or is there another solution?

PWM Fan hub? Like NZXT Grid 2 or something like that

That could work. I'm guessing I place it behind the motherboard?

Yeah, i put mine behind the motherboard tray....

For something cheaper you could pick up Deepcool PWM Fan Hub which allows up to 4 fans if you don't need more

Would the nzxt grid fan hub work well?

Of course, that Deepcool PWM fan hub is just an alternative. NZXT Grid 2 is quite expensive for a hub to be perfectly honest. :)

I'm just checking amazon since no fan hubs are available in my country. The nzxt grid (1st one) is the cheapest one and is the only fan hub which can be delivered to my country so I'm guessing I have no choice haha. Thanks for your help :)

Mind you the original NZXT Grid won't let you change the speed of your fans, so it will be running at full speed all the time

shit really? I guess in summer that wouldn't be an issue since I always have a fan next to me but that would be a pain in the winter. Any alternatives ?

Yeah how? "Because i can" doesn't really answer it.

Who knows, your answer might help many people....... unless you pick that image right up from 10 quick search on Google Image.

Its not easy getting in at tesla, you need to either know people there or wait ages for them to get to your application

Can't it just shipped where you live?

Well that depends, if that fan splitters have 4 pins that means its PWM (which the fan speed ia controllable)

You can use 4 pin splitters in 3 pin applications. The last pin just won't be used.

Nope on the amazon page it tells me that it cannot be shipped to my country. They are all 3 pin from what I can see.

Those links? They all have 4 pins....

You can also try searching for 4 pins PWM fan hub

Ah yeah.... just did a quick search at google for PWM fan hub that ship to Malta. Apparently, there is none

Well then, I'd say get a normal fan hub and get a "silent" fan adapter to connect the fan to the hub..... the fans should run at slower speed
