Honestly it doesn't seem like a great deal to me since you can get 1700s off the shelf for $295 right now. Buying this means chances are you won't be able to hit higher than 3.8 since all of those CPUs are put in a difference category.

Price has actually increased. 1700/X's are available under $300 quite often through Fry's/Refurbforless/Jet/Microcenter anyhow.

They're 280 at microcenter... Plus the 50 off with a mobo it's like it's 230...

Not everyone lives near a Microcenter.

I counter with "I, too, live in Florida, and since September of last year I've made three trips up to Atlanta with a stop at Micro Center in mind."

 

Of course, I had other things to do on two of those three trips, but the first was a straight up leave at 7:00 AM, get to Duluth at 1:00 PM, shop for two hours, go eat lunch, spend an hour at Fry's, be home by 10:00 PM affair.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Considering it's a 9 hour drive for me, one way, that's not really an option....

I'm pretty sure it'd be worth their while to put one in the Miami-Ft Lauderdale area.
