Some are, some aren't.

I'd say that the BitFenix adapter you want is going to be one of the reliable ones. CableMod's adapters should also be high quality.

The cheapo $2, mustard and ketchup wired, sketchy looking ones are a huge gamble. Personally, I'd only trust one that came with a tad more expensive addon card or 5.25" drive. Or if I ran it for a decent amount of time in an older system out of bare necessity.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

@Drak3 I'd love to get some custom cables from Cablemod but they are kinda a pain to get so i'll just skip for now.

Sadly their cables aren't available here so this is my best option.

They also be rather expensive if you just want to get one or two.

Actually, the molded types of adapters are what considered to be unreliable, which the Bitfenix Alchemy seem to be.

Here's more info on them: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?p=130311

The safe ones are typically the crimped ones (which comes in both sleeved and bare red/yellow cables) [LINK]; although, as you have said, there are many cheaply made adapters that with poor quality control and thin wires.

Molex can supply up to 75W so unless you're trying to feed 30 HDD's, you should be fine.

If you want them to look better, you can look for black tubing that you can heat to get just one cable. I don't know the right name in english for it though (only in french:-/), if someone knows it.
