Water cooling a 1060. Which one should I buy?

Before anyone tells me that it's probably stupid to water cool a 1060 I'm aware that it's unnecessary. I'm doing a custom desk pc build for my work. I have around $1000 to spend on the pc and sense it will be in a desk I'm planning on water cooling it. I'm going to use the EKWB A240G kit so i need a 1060 that would be compatible with that block.

Any 1060 with a reference PCB.

But how do I know which ones have a custom PCB opposed to a reference PCB?

Reference PCB is your best bet. EVGA's SSC uses a reference PCB if you'd like.

Also, don't water-cool a 1060! There's no point!

Get a G10, buy an AIO that works with it, call it a day.

O, and don't worry about what others think about cooling that card.  I rock my GTX960 with a G10 and Corsair H55 on it.  1551MHz at 38-40C 24/7 folding for over a year and a half now.  Super quite to boot.

Have a look an EKWB's new aluminium kits from the EK Fluid Gaming line. The big one (A240G) with the GPU Full cover has a compatibility chart with some 1060s listed as well. Link

performance wise pretty unneccessary indeed but if it fits the build and he WANTS it, why not? Thinking about moving my rig from a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX to a Silverstone RVZ01 with full custom loop … 1060 atm as well. Why? Well because I want to.

If he's not a gamer and only using it for CUDA acceleration, no. It might also be a showpiece.

I'm just questionning his decision .. Not prohibiting anyone from making their decisions :) i was just curious . Maybe he wants a silent build as i guess the card would be quieter on watter although as you said performance wise it would be pointless. (Sorry for bad english) . You guys can do whatever you want to .. Again : i was just curious

no need for apologies. Was just pointing out the good old "because I/he/she can" argument. ;)

@danrey84 @bowrilla @ARikozuM @Ithanul @CPU_bot

I'm not investing in a 1070 because this build is going to be really used for gaming and more of a show piece, and I want it to be as silent as possible.

If going for silence then, get a good PWM fan to put on the radiator and set a fan curve.  Or, get a good low speed, high CFM fan.

for what it cost for a custom loop you could put that towards a 1080 never mind a 1070 and probably have change for a burger king on the way home
