TKL keyboard worth it?

treeroy

I'm in the market for a new keyboard and trying to decide what to get. I like the idea of a tenkeyless as I like having more space, but then it's only like 10cm or so and I am comfortable having my arms wide apart anyway. I don't know if it's really worth it. Does anyone recommend tenkeyless? I've never used one before.

Currently eyeing up the Masterkeys Pro S

I have the Pro S, love the TKL form factor, but that is also because I never use the numpad. It does give a lot more room on your desk, which is very nice.

Like @Minibois pointed out, it depends on whether you frequently use a numpad. In my case, even though I would love to migrate to TKL form factor, it would mean having to juggle between two keyboards because I frequently have need for the numpad. I'd say evaluate how you use your keyboard very carefully, and take a decision based on that. I'd totally dig TKL otherwise. I'm all about low profile minimalistic peripherals.

how do you find the keyboard? I have a quickfire and it's fantastic.

I don't use the numpad on my home computer enough to make me care about having it.

For the same price I can also get a refurbished K70 which is quite tempting..

with tenkeyless keyboards you can have your mouse closer to your body. you can buy a standalone numpad if you need one
