Why am i getting worse performance with my new graphics card?

willforthebest

MY gtx 1050 ti i got for a bargin arrived today. I put it in my pc and installed the drivers. But for some reason im getting worse performance in games than my old 560 ti? My processor is a core 2 quad but I did research before buying this card and it can play gta 5 with my processor at 50 fps? Anyone know why this happens? Im getting like 30 fps in csgo now, i use to get 50

Its most likely it being your old gpu optimized for older cpus while the 1050 ti is meant for newer systems and you can typicaly expect 1050 ti to get 50-70 fps with newer cpus while 560 is optimized for older systems

As i said the core 2 quad is more than capable of running with the 1050 ti

Couple of reason I could think of as of now.

1. Driver issue (Uninstall old drivers and then install the new drivers).

2. CPU bottleneck due to 1050ti will "favor" newer CPU (Not sure if it's true).

3. V-Sync some how turned on.

4. Faulty card (RMA it).

I might be wrong, but these are the few things that come to my mind right now. PSU should be ok / enough to run 1050ti right?

you're supposed to uninstall your old drivers before installing new ones.

Or use GPU-z and go to the Sensor tab and look over there.

Today i got my gtx 1050 ti that i got for a bargin deal. I put it in my pc installed the drivers but i get worse fps than i was getting with my 560 ti. My processor is a core 2 quad q6600 but i did my research before buying this and found that this processor and card can handle games such as gta 5. Here is a video on a core 2 quad q6600 and a gtx 1050ti

Anyone know why i get worse fps than my 560ti? btw i can watch videos easily 1440p 60fps on youtube but before on my 560ti i could only watch 720p 60fps

Uninstall all Nvidia drivers, then download 1050 Ti drivers direct from their site. You are using the video out from the 1050 Ti, not your motherboard, right?

Like stated above you just need to DDU and then reinstall the drivers fresh new, this is mandatory step whenever you switch graphics cards ^^
