Hi there,

 

I an new here and I plan to build a mid range to high end gaming rig. I found a used 6700k and an Msi z170a pc mate for $288. Should I get it or spend a little extra to buy a new motherboard and a 7600k or even wait for coffee lake/cannonlake. I am also planing to over clock and will pair it with a Gtx1060 3GB and a corsair h110I cooler

The I/O shield is meant to help ground out the rear I/O (obviously) from the user.

I'm using a i5 now but regret getting it (although it was ages ago). If I can turn back time, I will get a i7 anytime.

The I/O shield, I'm actually not quite sure if it is like a all must have item. Hopefully some one here will be able to help you on that question.

I have an i5 3570k paired with a 1070 and a 2560x1440. Haven't noticed any CPU limiting in games that aren't naturally CPU limited. Haven't even needed to overclock yet.

 

Also go for the 6gb 1060 or maybe even look for a second hand 980ti I think they're around the same price as a new 1060
