eBay GTX 1070 faulty card with no display but fans spin up and lights work?

Is it worth buying one of these cards off eBay for cheap? or are they not able to be fixed? Im in the market for one but I would prefer to pay less, can i have some help please guys? many thanks/

Thank you for the reply :) it just looks interesting seeing a gtx 1070 for round about £100 haha, thought it might be worth a go but obviously I should stay away.

Unless you don't mind potentially loosing £100 i wouldn't. Could be user error which is why it isn't working but it is better to avoid it just in case it is a bigger fault.

Not working price should only ever be shipping plus maybe 20 pounds, It really is a gamble and people need to stop expecting someone to pay a significant fraction of a working cards value, because the card isn't working. Often it's impossible to fix, sometimes it is possible but some of my scopes and soldering equipment costs more than a brand new GTX 1080. (I bought 2nd hand, saved a fortune but it still wasn't cheap, however recently I've been selling it on for Vega if it's good, Pascal if it isn't)
