Is buying a brand new FM2+ CPU still worth it ?

Im planning on buying a brand new Athlon X4 860k (FM2+) for my second pc. Is it still worth buying or should I just save up and buy another cpu ? :/

Give some prices in comparison to the cost of Ryzen for you.

Its $176 for the Ryzen 5 1400

and $64 for the Athlon X4 860k

You should wait for Ryzen 3 and see how the prices for Ryzen 5 and 7 will adjust.

Alternatively...

Look at what your motherboard supports and see which processor is faster and then look on eBay , lots of Korean and Hong Kong sellers have such processors for a good price.

Here's a reasonably good site to compare raw performance between processors models (except integrated graphics) that could help you figure out if it's worth upgrading to something else :  http://cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

Unless the score of the new cpu is at least 50% higher than your current cpu I'd say don't bother changing it.

Id just get a g4560 for a budget build, its cheaper, better platform, upgradeable if you want, lower power, faster.

Well I think I would just go and order online since my local store dont have any of those in stock rn :/

ty for your reply :D yeah I think Im just gonna save up + wait and see hows the Ryzen 3 gonna perform like. if its not worth it Im just gonna go with the G4560 since its singlecore performance is better and the DDR4 Support is just one of my fav features xD
