Which ram for my Ryzen build

Hi All,

I'm planning to do a Ryzen build next month but i hear alot of things about ram compatibility since release. Is that still an issue ?

here are the parts i'll use.

Ryzen 7 1700x

Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16gb (2x8) 3000mhz.

Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming k5

Corsair cx650m psu

i'll be using my gtx1060 and couple ssd's from my old rig.

cpu is gonna be watercooled btw.

Noice! I'm planning on getting the K5 as well (Or maybe the K7...). Though I'd go for a R7 1700, and OC it. The X just comes without a cooler and with a factory overclock.

Yeah i got a few aio liquid coolers here so i'll be good. It's gonna be my first AMD build as i always been an intel kinda guy. feels a bit like cheating..

I'm stuck with LGA 1155 for now (just ordered an i5), but I'm upgrading to Ryzen soon. And the 1700 should be cheaper than the 1700X, and overclock the same.

currently on a LGA 1150 with a i5 4690K. I thought the stock speeds from the x are 100Mhz higher that the non x. So i thought it would overclock better? maybe mistaking as im not an AMD guy. (yet)

AFAIK, they OC the same. The X series is slightly higher binned, and are mainly for people who won't OC at all and want a higher clock speed, or extreme overclockers who want the absolute best they can get, and have the budget for it.

Oh thanks will look into that one. It will save me a few bucks.
