Pro-Isis Hacking Group Targeting Government Websites

In short, there is hacking group, known as Team System DZ, targeting a plethora of government websites. The group replaces all the pages with the same message:

The websites of Ohio Gov. John Kasich and a Maryland County were hacked Sunday, displaying what appeared to be pro-ISIS propaganda.

As you can see, the message is anti-trump and pro-ISIS. Most notably, they hacked the Governor of Ohio's, a Maryland county's, and Long Island Town's websites. In fact, they claim to have hacked far more government websites on their Facebook page, however all of these websites appear to have been taken completely down (by their owners?).

I would assume that any government organization/individual who controls a website hacked by the group would want to keep the hack on the "down-low" and would respond similarly to the Ohio Government.

Yikes! Though are they actually Pro-ISIS, or just some hackers trying to be famous by putting a stupid message on any sites they hack? And is it just me, or are hackers not capable of spelling and proper english?

This was yesterdays news. :) Still funny, nonetheless. What can you expect though, government municipalities have the tightest f'n budget to work with. Wouldn't doubt if some of the machines still had XP.

That's what makes this seem faker than a Kardashian.

 

Maybe it's just me, but everything about this screams that this is either completely fake perpetuated as some kind of joke or some kind of inside job at some point. Translation is too good for someone who doesn't speak english as a first language and it's way too western in nature with the "Hacked by" and "I love". Who knows though, maybe they have some western recruits.

Ask google. Many ways. I wouldn't be surprised if it was as easy as brute forcing the cPanel login. There are more sophisticated ways of course. I read a paper last year about downgrading the deffie Hellman key exchange to force older USA export encryption rules which meant they could crack older keys using modern computers. I believe they defaced the FBI website. There's also some web hosts running older versions of Linux that have numerous vulnerabilities
