To the cameraman of Linus Tech Tips: Stop focusing on the body!

Ged4

I don't know if is that Linus move a lot when he is talking or what, but since you got the RED camera, in a lot of Linus Tech Tips videos Linus he is out of focus. And as a photographer is hard watch any of them with out thinking in this, instead of listening to Linus. Focus on the eyes! and if he is moving, just track him or may be, close the aperture.

The LMG camera operators have had many years of experience so I doubt it's nothing to do with them, it's probably more like a setting on the RED camera that needs adjusting.

May be you are right, but since I watched the last WAN Show, where at the start of the show was so obviously out focus and the rest of the show, still slightly out of focus, had to say something.

I'm pretty sure they're not using the same cameras for WAN show as they are using for regular releases, because they don't stream in 8K resolution. It's a regular camera on a tripod i believe, and it doesn't move unless it's absolutely needed.

It's a RED camera so it's more likely a setting that needs to be purchased and enabled for the low low price of $999.99

The other reason that the RED camera could out of focus is because the aperture (depth of field) isn't correctly set.

There is not a "correct" aperture, just each aperture will have different depth of field. A more closed aperture will solve in part the problem but still, when someone is in front of the camera you want the main point of focus on the eyes.

I focus on his eyebrows, notice how much they move.
