Ethereum mining Radeon HD 6990 = Polaris?

Hi guys,

 

So I'm just trying to mine the life out of my surviving Radeon HD 6990, since AMD's drivers are a mess and crossfire doesn't work with newer games anyway.

It's basically just trash at this point xD

 

Anyway, it's weird.
It's saying that I have ONE polaris GPU?

I'm pretty sure that I don't have any AMD RX series xD

 

Running Radeon HD 6990 on 16.2.1. Beta drivers (Latest - where Crossfire doesn't work).

etherum miners were not designed with ancient cards in mind. Odds are they see the card, don't recognize it and juat default to the polaris subroutine.

 

now you can drop the idea since that card barely pushes 10mh/s and you need at least 2gb vram for etherum anyway

In the video guide it recognizes HD 5970.

don't have much experience with that. I tried out qtminer and that worked flawlessly even on a 7770 (i think it was a 7770)
