I'll definitely give these a try. Although, I'm afraid chances are less but I'll try... If you were to choose between these memory modules, which seem to be available, which one would you recommend (like choosing less worse one over the rest):

G Skill Ripjaws 3000 MHz C15 ~ F4-3000C15D-16GVRB ~ $177

G Skill Ripjaws 3200 MHz C16 ~ F4-3200C16D-16GVKB ~ $183

G Skill Trident Z 3400 MHz C16 ~ F4-3400C16D-16GTZ ~ $251

G Skill Trident Z 4000 MHz C19 ~ F4-4000C19D-16GTZ ~ $365

Please choose freely without thinking about any liability.

Thanks

G.Skill Ripjaws 3000 or 3200

Hey guys

I have bought all parts for my AMD Ryzen 7 1700 build, but I'm unable to find the right RAM for my build, availability being the biggest issue here in India. Here's what I already have:

Processor: Ryzen 7 1700 (Planning to overclock to 3.7 GHz with Wraith Spire cooler)

Graphics Card: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1070

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3 (AGESA 1.0.0.6 update is also available now).

SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB

Hard Drive: WD Black 4TB.

Power Supply: CoolerMaster V650 80+ Gold Fully Modular

Case: CoolerMaster MasterCase 5 (windowed) & using only 2 fans that are pre-included.

My best option of choosing RAM, considering RMA & availability are:

G.SKILL 16GB (8GB X 2) DDR4 3000MHZ RIPJAWS V ~ F4-3000C15D-16GVRB ~ Rs. 11,400
G.SKILL TRIDENT Z DDR4 3400MHZ ~ F4-3400C16D-16GTZ ~ Rs. 16,200.00

G Skill Trident Z DDR4 4000MHz C19 ~ F4-4000C19D-16GTZ ~ Definitely Samsung B-Die ~ Rs. 23,500

I want to buy the 4000 MHz, even if it's at a premium, but I want to confirm from you guys, IS IT WORTH? WILL IT WORK AT SAY ATLEAST 3200 MHZ IN MY BUILD?

Thank you

3200MHz is enough. Beyond than that you won't notice much difference.

Check the mobo memory support list.

Yes, here was my confusion Motherboard's Memory support list does not write anything above 2666 MHz and most are just 2133 MHz.
Secondly, here's the list of RAMs available: http://www.overclockerszone.com/desktop/?sort=priceasc&page=3

3200 MHz is available at C16 which is definitely not Samsung B-Die. The only confirmed Samsung B-Die Memory I could find is 4000 MHz at C19. So ya, even though I'll be spending extra money on it, I wanna go for it. I just wanna make sure if it's worth it to atleast get to 3200MHz? (Although with AGESA update, I think it can even reach 3600 MHz).

The other fine option could be 3400 MHz at C16. But I am not sure about material type.

Really nice to hear. You might have a good Samsung B-Die Memory or even some Hynix memories are showing overclock capability. But either way, AGESA update seems to have done a lot.

EDIT - Just realised that my mobo doesn't support Ram speed above 3200 MHz. So 3200 is my choice.

----------------------------

Thanks for your choice. I think considering the prices, you are right. As far as I have seen on the Internet, even some Hynix memories are now showing good overclock capabilities. I also am thinking about going with either the 3200 MHz or 3400 MHz. The 3200 is definitely Hynix and I think, with AGESA, I can definitely reach it. 3400 on the other hand has very less information on the Internet about Memory type, ranking & such. Considering the price premium, it seems to be one of the Samsung Dies, maybe even B. But I don't know.

Anyhow, I will consider between 3200 & 3400 at the time of buying. Thanks for putting me in the right direction. This solves my problem.
