"RAM Drive" VS 2 x M.2 Raid 0 drives

Hi.

I have an idea of getting extra 16 GB of RAM for my next build and using it as a RAM Drive for working/compiling in Visual Studio.

How would that compare performance-wise to 2 x (960 EVO) M.2 drives in Raid 0? Is it worth it?

Thanks!

No need to make a ram drive, you os will do that for you and cache the boot drive, but a ram disk is much faster.

Really a single m.2 is more than enough.

I have a ram drive. Yes the speed is mesmerizing but in reality not worth it.

Very interesting about caching the boot drive.

Do yo mean that having source code for compiling on

RAM drive

    VS

single m.2 drive

    VS

2 x m.2 drives in Raid 0

would not be significantly better than just a single m.2 drive? And then it is better to utilize 2 separate m.2 drives or get one that is bigger?
