how long can a flaghship phone last? express your experience/opinion here!

i am buying an oneplus 5 (8 gb ram variant) and just wanted to know how long can a oneplus flagship last (1 , 2 year etc...) or any other flagship smartphone? plz share your experience here!

I would expect the Oneplus 5 to easily last 3-4 years based on the company's previous phones and the rate at which Android is filling up RAM and maxing out CPUs.

Depends what you mean by "last". Being usable? Years. I know people still using iPhone 3gs. Being the top performer? A year, until the next flagship comes out, even less if you include other brands in to that. 

 

Having all the new features? A year or two

I've been using my S7 for a year now (As of the beginning of July), it's still performing great. I'm sure I'll be able to get at least another two years or more out of it. (Though I'm considering replacing it some time soon, the model I have right now is the international unlocked non-edge, I'd replace it with another S7 non-edge or maybe an S7 Edge, except this time US unlocked, that way I get updates sooner, and so Samsung Pay is functional.)

I'm still using a Galaxy S4, which is only livable because I have the Nova Launcher on it. The camera is still great, the performance is meh, it hiccups every now and then, but the battery life usually gets me through a day with medium usage, and performance wise it does most of what I like to do (twitter, reddit, youtube, and light browsing). Its been running for about 3 years now. You treat your flagship phone well, it will treat you the same.

3-5 years. OnePlus One still going strong, saved by 3GB RAM tho

i think it would last a good 4 yrs as i only use my phone for social media, mails, sms, web browsing and youtube. i dont play games on my phone, it feels stupid....... (part of PCMASTERRACE!)

i'm on my second year with my nexus 6p and while it's still usable, it's getting very old. it's old enough that i don't think it has much resale value unless i replace the battery unit
