AMD FX 8320 6 Logical processors

My AMD FX 8320 shows 6 logical process when i check Is this normal since i've looked around and its a 8 core CPU and people said it should show 8 logical cores or am i miss understanding?

Depending on the program, it could show up as 4 logical cores, or 8. If it shows 6, you've either been scammed, or the additional cores aren't enabled in the bios.

I checked through msinfo32 and it showed this

Use task manager and look at the number of cores that show up.

I've always had this CPU since i first bought this PC from cyberpower i just never really checked until now since my preformance in games is bad now and i Have a 1060 6GB SSC.


The last time i changed OS was a couple months ago from Windows 10 to Windows 8 I just couldn't stand windows 10

Clean USB install but it has windows.old so assuming it still has old OS so idk

Do you have any disabled in the bios. On my old FX system you could disable modules individually (1 module = two logical cores).  Just a thought, unless I have missed something.  Also is anything in System Configuration under Number of processors, see attached.

Ive just updated to windows 10 and now it's showing 8 logical cores and better performance in my games!
