Is this a good ryzen build?

Swap the 1700X for a 1700.

Why do you need 32GB of RAM and also why do you need a 960 pro?

And a 1080Ti doesn't need 850W unless you have SLI plans (which that board doesn't support)

Otherwise it's fine besides the uglyass cooler

1. you're better off getting the 1700 and use the stock cooler (which is surprisingly good)

2. what the hell are you doing that required 32gb of memory?

3. goes along with #2. The need for NVMe storage is HIGHLY workload dependant. if you need #2, then you need #3.

other than that, good build. Depending on the use case, you could save yourself several hundred on parts.

Oh my bad.

Still, why do you need a 960 evo? Overkill for anyone not professionally producing videos.

Boot times won't be improved compared to an 850 evo, editing might see some advantages tho

1700 is no different than the 1700x save for XFR. and you get a great cooler to boot. -42£

Drop down to 16GB memory, -140£

Buy the M.2 variant of the 850

Just saved you 180£ and you wont notice a thing.

m.2 is just a form factor & connector. m.2 is not always NVMe, and NVMe is not always m.2
