How do I unzip a password protected rar file?

If you're wondering how to bypass it, you don't. Wouldn't be much of a password protected file if you could.

Yes, but I didnt make the file, Therefore, I dont know the password so I wonder if there is an alternative  way to "unzip" it.

Nope, that's kind of the point of having it password protected (actually, it's exactly the point). No point in having a password on it if you can just bypass it. 

 

Go to the place you downloaded it from and check for a password if there's a description of some sort.

You could try every password until you get the right one.  It might only take a few septillion years, depending how strong it is

ask who you got it from for the password. thats it

Get password, use WinRAR or 7zip to open. Never had issues with those. If its for game mod or some early release stuff, you find pw from announcement article / site.
