ASRock A320m-HDV compatibility with Ryzen 5 1400

According to this article, BIOS ver. P2.00 or latest is needed for Ryzen 5 compatibility but the ASRock mobo I bought has BIOS ver. P1.30. Currently, the system turns on but it won't post. Is this the reason why the system won't post? If not, what would be other probable causes?

If the bios doesn't support your cpu, then it won't post.

So in short, I'll have to flash the appropriate BIOS version using a Ryzen 7 CPU? Why would ASRock mobos not have Ryzen 5 compatibility right outside the box?

Because A320 is more meant for OEMs. B350 is recommended for consumer use. To get your BIOS flashed, just go to a local store and ask them if they can flash it for you, some will do it for free.
