780ti SLI

Ybanna

Computer specs:

i7 2600 (OC'ed to 4.5ghz)

Gigabyte z68x-ud3h-b3

2x 780ti in SLI

12GB 1333mhz (4x2 and 2x2)

CM1000i PSU

I'm currently running into issues relating to playing games and overall higher temps with the graphics cards. When nothing is running the temps are usually sitting around 60C-70C and while playing GTA on factory clocked settings, the game often encounters the error "err gx d3d init". Also with the new game PUBG, I have to run everything on low and even then I get extremely choppy FPS and also crashes a lot.The only fix that I have found for both of the games is to underclock both of the cards by -105 Core, -130 Memory.

Did you clean the cards at some point?

Maybe do a full disassembly and replace the thermal paste if you regularly  cleaned it

Do you think that that will help with the crashes? I ordered some thermal paste and hope to be getting it within a few days

If they are running that hot at idle there is an issue.

Run valley or heaven, monitor everything if you have another screen if not enable the overlay or keep the tab open for a program like precision xoc or afterburner. Need to see what the cards are doing to be able to help.

That's really hot. Check fans first, then clean dust, last replace thermal paste

Power, gpu usage, voltage. All the limits for both gpu's. CPU, ram usage. In a Benchmark and game.

I have had 780's in sli. Those are high temps overall, but are those temps on one or both cards?

PCI slots on your mobo are decently spaced, but which gpu's are you using (2 slot cards or 3 slot), it might be because one of your gpus doesnt get good airflow..

They're in slot 1 and 3 and the temps are the 2-3 degrees off for both cards
