Best 4K or Full HD monitor? On a budget

jasonwj322a

I know I shouldn't necessarily look for a 4K monitor if I'm on a budget but I'm planning on buying near the holidays.

I'm looking to get in PC gaming but only have a laptop. It has a GTX 1050 which I know wouldn't be able to run AAA games at 4K. I don't plan on playing those and am looking to play things like LoL and OW. I've been playing on my laptop a few days and the experience isn't the best. The keyboard isn't good for gaming with the mushy keys. The screen is too close for my comfort.

I don't know what my budget is for now. Which is why I'm looking for help. I've seen some 2K ultrawide on sale recently for ~$200. I figured I can maybe pick up a smaller 4K for around that price?

Keep in mind that I'm only 16 so and recommendations are appreciated.

Edit: I guess Full HD is what I should be aiming for.

Your subconciousness is already telling you this is a bad idea, and I agree with it. 4K budget gaming is an oxymoron.

Right. Think I should look for full HD instead.

It also means you can put that money on a quality panel instead of higher pixeldensity. Look for a nice VA or IPS panel that boasts a nice color production and contrast.

Completely forgot about the panel type. Thank you for the reminder!

Look at something like a Samsung C24F390FHU. 2500:1 (IPS panels are 1200:1 max) contrast VA panel, with decent colors and a price that won't break the bank.

Suddenly I have way for options lol

That monitor is also curve which is cool.

I'll look into it more, again thank you for helping out
