For budget 4K gaming that price is good for now, but PC p2p will catch up like it did to ps4/x1

True, but then I also think that the water-cooling is unnecessary and it should have been spent on other hardware instead of the cooling

Crazy good performance for the price.

better than an RX 580 for only $500 is incredible, and with console optimization, it's going to be a monster.

TBH, it might actually be able to run more games in native 4K than my PC, which cost a hell of a lot more money.

mad respect for this console.

On another point: Looks really interesting. I will be waiting to see what games get released on it. The main turn on for me is the Xbox Play Anywhere feature. Wanna play some forza on the TV without buying the game again? sure do it!

Also some exclusivity are good, like Hale that I really like and the fact that we will be able to soon play the original games is awesome.

I am a Steam link owner. And after getting through the trouble of playing non steam games on it? I will surely trade that off for a good console.

I do have a PS4 (original, not the Pro). Getting the Xbox One X gives me 4k at the cheap in the living room. Why not simply buy a ps4 pro? Because almost the only difference between the pro and the normal is a second GPU.. Xbox isn't releasing simply an upgraded version of the xbox one, it's a completely new console. Now THAT is something to look forward to.

No, I'm not saying it at all. That is what Microsoft/Xbox are saying as I quoted earlier.

Edit: I found out what it says - "'water cooling', some smartphones as well, what a joke" was in a text colour I couldn't read because I'm on dark theme

Great console for it's price. But because Microsoft brings everything to PC nowadays, for a PC gamer i don't see a reason to buy it.

Anyone here on LTT thinking that they can build a 4K PC for the same cost is:

A) delusional,

B) hoping they're delusional,

C) forgetting to add Windows,

D) hoping for A or B,

E) thinking that they can wait for Volta while using the iGPU.

I'm all for this console, to be honest. Even if it uses some trickery to make it seem like 4K, who cares? Look at Nintendo, the games are 1080@30, but they look super fluid as if they were 60Hz.

It's using a vapor chamber design much like the ones on the 212 EVO (?), Gammaxx 400, and others.

Others already mentioned it.

Fine, Ok sure I messed up with the 'Water-cooling' part but I don't look at all the reviews etc of the XBox One X so it was a mere slip or the tongue (or fingers in this case). I simply only read the spec sheet and got info from my brother.

However, someone could get a 4K PC if they bought used which I am all up for doing unlike a lot of people.

A lot of Nintendo games run at 60 FPS, for example Mario Kart. It's also night and day between the ones that do and don't.

As for the Xbox being a "4K console", I think that's an overstatement. It might be 4K in some games, but don't expect 4K with 60 FPS and high details in anything but simpler games like racing.

I'd rather they spend the extra performance on making good quality 1080p instead of bad 4K.

i rather would have seen it beeing a 1080p 60fps with some msaa and better textures on all current and past games then 4k 30fps on some and other with upscaled 4k with 60 fps and so on, i also hope more gamedevs will offer games with the option to go either 4k30 or 1080p60 depending on the screen resolutio now there is be a good amount of power in this console.

Nah,1080p/60 and 4K/30 are apples and oranges. Cant change that simple, and the cpu in consoles just doesnt have the power to go all 60

Well it will be the most powerful console to date, so that's pretty cool.  I think people need to understand that consoles are targeted at a different segment than PC enthusiasts.  To make a console more expense than $500 would be foolish.  It is, at its core, a mass market system that they are trying to get in every living room with a 4K tv.  I believe it is projected that by 2020 50% of US homes will have a UHD TV.  The xb1x will have no exclusive titles, and will work with the standard xb1.  That is outstanding in my opinion.  I probably won't buy it, but I really think it's a nice move by Microsoft with the way they handled this.  I'm a PC gamer, but I'm happy for console gamers.  This is a good console for a fair price.

Yeah, but I think it's the best time for pc gaming, hardware is much cheaper and more powerful(not recently GPU shortage) and XPA give PC another edge. That's not a lot effort to build a HTPC for 4K gaming, x1 controller can be used. Only if people with a very-very tight budget or deadly want to play ps4 exclusives, they should go with PC

Okay, I'm impressed. My Xbox One serves me well, but I do often yell at it for being incompetent and crash all the time in Fallout 4, although I think that's more of Fallout 4's problem. Oh well.

I might consider getting this beast.

I am impressed by the specs for only 500. Plus it has a 4k bluray player which to purchase one on its own is about 200.
