Is it worth selling a RX 580

Camell513

I have been watching the prices of rx 580s and they are going anywhere from a steal at $350 to $500. I have a Asus strix OC 8Gb Rx 580. I wanted to know if it's worth selling that and buying a 1070, or even something more but put some of my own money in. Also if I were to sell forsay of Ebay, first is starting the bid at $450 and buy it now at $500 reasonable pricing, and secondly is that even a good site to sell from. Thanks in advance!

yep it's worth it.

the reason why 580s are that overpriced currently is the low availability and the fact that every cryptominer out there is looking for those cards.

1070 will be better but is still a bad value card, but since you basically can upgrade for free so why not...

(have a look at Palit GTRX 1070 Super Jetstream - I got one and they sell for cheap over here for some reason. Great card though.)

Maybe throw a bit more money at it and go for 1080ti ?

The price is high because people are using them for mining.  You could sell it to one of those people, or you could become one ;)

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

You may hate me for this, but here is the system https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Mm8q2R

Right now i have a 32inch 1080p monitor and some old secondary monitor that is 16:10, if that shows its age

Refresh rate is I believe 60hz but here is the main monitor

LG - 32MA68HY-P 32.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor

Now that I look yea it is 60Hz as you can see in the I copied and pasted, I'm a little slow but its ok.

holy mother - there is so much wrong with that system :-) but I don't hate you for it. It may have it's reasons.

well - whatever man :-) - 1070 will be more than enough for AAA titles at ultra to run on it. So no need for a 1080ti.

ok good, I still would love that poseidon graphics card from Asus, but we can all dream. Ok finally should I go for a normal air cooled from Asus basically the same as the one I have or something else. and are the pre watercooled ones stupid to go with too like this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LW4NnQ/msi-geforce-gtx-1070-8gb-video-card-geforce-gtx-1070-sea-hawk-x

1070's are becoming inflated now and honestly, I wish this stupid fad went cold again to tell scalpers to heck off with the price gauging.

Lol that's ok, Luckily the Pc part picker is all I spent on it. So technically I spent about $240 dollars in things that are going obsolete, that's also taking into fact that I haven't been charged for the MoBo
