Better website than YouTube to view game graphics?

Macboi

Hello people of the internet!

How good the graphics of a game are has a large impact on whether I buy the game or not... but due to YouTube's compression I can't really see what the game actually looks like on there.  Are there any websites that have max setting footage of games with little to no compression?  It is also preferable that the website isn't a malware minefield too.

Thanks people

Perhaps check out some screenshots of said game? Or just turn the video quality for the video up even more?

If you're buying games purely for the graphics, you're doing it wrong.

Good luck with that. You would have to find footage that was recorded lossless in the first place to view it without compression.

Since most of the time people record game videos using NVENC or x264, you will be still looking at a compressed footage.

Buy the game yourself and watch it on your screen natively?

Nobody uploads uncompressed gameplay video footage, maybe like 20 years from now, but definitely not today.

Screenshots, sure. You can find them almost anywhere, who would compress screenshots?

Footage? I don't know about such websites. Very few video service websites would keep non-compressed or very little compressed footage on their servers due to the sheer cost of storage required.

Just recording with FRAPS 1440p natively has several gigabyte files per minute, compare that to under 1GB for entire video on YT.

Games on 1080p with 60fps should look fantastic, even compressed through youtube. If you search for a game on ultra settings, watch the video and it's still to ugly for you to buy, don't buy it.

For videos? No idea. For screenshots? Neogaf has a yearly screenshot thread for each platform. Just look for the PC screenshot threads.
