When posting a topic, notify users who change their font colour to something unreadable in night theme that it is not readable in night theme

when someone is changing their font colour to something that is unreadable in night theme, add a note on the bottom before submit topic where it clearly says the text is unreadable in night theme

from a friend.

 

I cant be the only one who cant read this text on night theme .. 

and this too, but this is actually readable but just really annoying to read.

"Remove formatting automatically when something is pasted/make posts automatically night theme friendly
Unfortunately there is no easy, non-destructive way of doing this with the interface that we are provided for the editor, so we aren't able to do this."

Yeah, it's slightly different, and it would be probably less destructive, but still, this general idea has been suggested before

won't work because ppl who post in colors don't care if others can read it or not ... if they would care they would simply not do it.

i would hope people would care because that means that some people wont help because they cant read it and they'll get a slower response, what you want in this forum is quick answers :P not hour long waiting for a detailed troubleshooting guide that basically tells you that you plug in 4+4, not just 4 for CPU power 

 

well thats what i think the majority of the topics should be. quick fast and easy to understand answers to quickly get your shit working

I just created an extension for Edge that automatically converts the text to white, took me about 5 minutes but I've wasted a lot more time trying to read dark text so it was worth it.

Oh neat, the extension works in Chrome also by just adding a single line to it. :)

There's already note about that. But this occurs mainly with pasted content from external site or from theme to another. If OP can read their own text, they don't verify it working. And they shouldn't need to.

In the vast majority of cases, the colour comes from content that has been pasted, rather than people deliberately changing the colour. When that happens, there already is a banner offering to remove formatting. That banner doesn't always mean that the post is not night theme friendly (though usually on Chrome it will be), and I think it doesn't actually appear in 100% of cases, but it does exist, and can't be modified much.

No changes to the editor are actually realistically achievable because the editor, and most of the other client side code on the forum, can't be tweaked or replaced using the built in mechanisms, so it's not something that we can easily implement better either.

There is already a night theme fixer script in the forum scripts list which you are welcome to use, as well as the one linked above.
