i5-3380M upgrade

Hello, everyone!

I have a samsung laptop (np300e5x-a02bg), it had a Intel B980. I have bought an i5-3380M, after the upgrade the laptop works normal for 30 minutes and then shutsdown. It's not overheating problem because the tempetures during shut dows are normal (~40c). Can you guys help me solve the problem, please.

TDP wise both are the same so  that's fine shouldn't be that. How ever it might be your motherboard drivers, is there a version of the laptop you can/could buy which came/comes with an i5 3380M, if yes, then the issue might be something else, if no then your problem is likely to be that, and it could be very hard to fix

Driver issue?

maybe, might be the motherboard drivers, in which case that could be hard to fix

It might, but it's more likely to be an issue with the motherboard's firmware. Can't hurt to try though.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

that's not an i5 3380M though, so unless there is a version with that exact CPU there is no guarantee it'll work, and even then there isn't
