Simple question.

Whether it's trying to hop on a bandwagon with Bitcoin several years too late or the inflated cost to graphics cards, should LTT community do away with it?

F@H ect is nice for what it contributes and that is clearly community oriented. Mining? Unless you already had equipment before the flavor of the month crazes, I feel being part of the problem of 480/580/1070s being inflated in price is anything but community.

Just my 2c

*Just like Hackintosh being a banned subject, it's not like the internet is lacking sites for coin mining.

They should, there's already pelnty of topics covering what's mining and how to do that. All they have to do is hit the search bar and look it up or use google, it's not hard. Having same topic over and over again about same thing is stupid.

That's about 4/5ths of the forums gone then, as tons of other topics on here are asked over and again when there are plenty of threads on here about them already. Not saying you're wrong, just pointing out that if that's the criteria to ban topics.

There is also hundreds of thousands of post around the subject "my computer won't boot". Should we ban them because it is the same topic over and over again?

Do you see it every day?

How to mine is easily googleable whereas "my computer won't boot" feels more like a specific issue

Better ban news topics since they are easily searchable. kek

I really don't see any justification in banning the topic. Unlike hackintosh, there are no legal issues with it.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I remember when crypto first started off, and one of the other forums I visit had the subject ban.

I say this.  It did not stop people asking at all; instead, everyone went straight to PMing.  The forum, of course, reverse the ban later on.

This was 423usd less than 2 weeks ago. Newegg direct is still more expensive than the card is worth, but this is just insane. Things like this are why I don't get how coin mining is placed in the same category as F@H for community.

With miners killing 580 stock, recent reddit threads show the 1070 is the alternative and to be frank, it's BS.
