AMD CUP Heat. Question.

So i have an AMD 8350 CPU

i know AMD runs hot people told me the CPU is like 5 months old, Playin Elder Scrolls Online. for 3-4 hours

Says My peek was 80c is that too hot?

Useing Core Temps to check says my hotest was 59c, but since its AMD people said add 20c too get the Temp.

It's fine, you only really need to worry when it starts hitting 90c+.

That was only true for Ryzen. With older CPUs, it should be fairly accurate. With Ryzen, it was actual temperature +20C, to correct an issue with early BIOS and fan curves. Basically, if it said 70C, a 1700X would actually be 50C on the package.

That's a sage temp.

oh really, So what ever core temp says it should be pretty close to what it is? normal its around 50/60c

do you have a idea of any other better CPU temp reader, ive been trying out alot.

not sure what saga temp means tbh, tried to google and everything cx.

thanks for the help tho!

I just use Corsair Link and MSI Command Center, but I have a Corsair H100i V2 and an MSI X99 board, so both of those are kinda required to set up certain things. HWMonitor is supposed to be pretty good.

It was supposed to say 'safe,' but LTT Forum gets hella confuzzled when I'm stressing my CPU and driving it to 80C.

For the FX series, the recommended thermal limit is 60-70c. The processors begin to throttle at 80c, and shut down completely at 90c.

Reading FX chips is not easy, most programmes will be inaccurate due to how the temp is read, I think AMD Overdrive is the one super reliable accurate temp reading software for the FX series.

Yours faithfully

Maybe not reply if you don't know about the subject? That kinda advise could mean broken CPU. It's FX series AMD with max temps at 75C. Normal load temps should be 55-65C. OPs 59C is normal and fine. 90C on same chip would be same as running Intel at 100C.
