Best Budget Cooler (LGA 1150)

Ok all,

this is a part of my friend's upgrade series

we've decided on a case-  which was about 140 CAD - the phanteks eclipse p400s (black)

now we need a cpu cooler that will match the colour theme and be ok in terms of ram clearance

it should be around 30 CAD - we need some money left over for led strips if he wants more

i would suggest a 212 or DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX 400

I recommend getting the MasterBox 5 as the case, will save you a lot of money for a better cooler and other parts.

lol - already bought the phanteks - has a built in led strip and controller plus cable management and psu shroud - saving money there

How much is the Pure Rock or Gammaxx 400? These are great since you can orient them horizontally to cover a RAM slot but show the brand or mount vertically for no clearance issues.

oh ok - anything else? the mobo is a red themed gigabyte z97 - so something that fits with said colour scheme would be nice

A heatsink is a heatsink. The biggest factor is going to be the fan when it comes to the usual suggestions. Make sure that it has vapor cooling heatpipes, a quiet yet high CFM fan, and fits the aesthetic.

you can use an Arduino for RGB, if you can do it well, it will look really cool.

yeah but that's basic its not animated mostly just solid colors
