1050ti vs 1060 3gb

Which is the better video card for someone like myself who doesn't want to spend above $175? Is the 1060's 3gb of RAM but higher core count among other things worth the extra money. Or is the 1050ti's 4gb of RAM yet lower core count better? Thanks.

I was in a similar carfuffle but i ended up saving up for a 1060 6GB

Depends on what kinds of games you play.

If it helps you out, a GTX 1050TI is similar to a GTX 770, as a GTX 1060 is closer to a GTX 980.

1060 3GB is much better, but you'll have to make compromises in demanding games with settings like texture quality and AA.

I play games ranging from Kerbal Space Program to the likes of X-Plane and Squad.

Well if that's the case and you do have 275 to spend I'd jump on a 6gb 1060. Great bang for the buck and it is within that range.

he has $175, not $275

RX 470 4GB if there are any left other than that, well save up for 1060 6GB or RX 580...

Wrong. The 1050 Ti is similar to the 780. I have a buddy with a GTX 780 Classified and we get nearly the exact same FPS in most games. If both maxxed out in GTA 5, I get around 55-60 fps, and he gets around 50-55fps. And hes got the stronger CPU aswell.

1060 3gb is faster. Faster memory bandwidth, much more performance (like easy +50-60% or so).

However... those 3gb are Bottlenecking in 1080p today, in a decent amount of Games.

 

If you buy Cheap, you buy twice.

 

Buy 2-3 drinks less next time you go party, and go up to GTX 1060 6gb. Aka, save some more bucks.

Saving 30 bucks is not worth, when you buy a Card, that had a bottleneck a year ago.

 

The additional Money, a 6gb model cost, you will get it back. because 

1. It will last much longer before you have to upgrade it

2. when you resell it, you can get more for it.

I'm not too knowledgeable in the GTX 780, but that seems realistic.
