Android got a lot better at 4.0 jelly bean if I remembered correctly. After " project butter".

First smartphone? An iPhone 4s from my uncle (never had service though). I've got a 6 Plus now, and I've turned traitor on my 4S and I'm trying to get rid of it. I would've kept it for old times sake, but my sibs destroyed the screen and I replaced it with a crappy one from Amazon and I'm too cheap to get a new, better one.

Mine was the Samsung Galaxy Young (1) in 2013 i think, my parents were like you are having not chose in the phone but you are paying for it all/plus contract. You could download one app and the internal storage was full, it lagged so baddy playing jet pack joy ride.

Second and current phone, first i got to chose, is the moto g first gen v2/4g. It lags while using some IM apps. I need to get round to rooting it.

Technically my first phone was an HTC Sensation 4G Z710e bought in 2010 ish. Or maybe fall 2011. I can't remember. However, prior to that I borrowed the neighbors LG Rumor 1, then her LG Rumor 2 to text all the ladies in high school. Now I'm rocking a Galaxy Note 3, freshly rooted and bootloader unlocked. Either gonna install Android 7/8 on it soon, or sell it and buy outright the Note 8 (only if it can be rooted and bootloader unlocked) or OnePlus 5.

Honestly, I was taking a long look at the iPhone SE (brilliant hardware and compact size), but that price hike for the 64 GB variant quickly had me running, sorry to say.

 

My first smartphone was a BlackBerry Pearl Flip. I liked the software and design (especially that front facing clock and LED indications) but it was slow enough that I would browse on WiFi with my PSP instead. Texting was a big step up from the classic 3 letters a number setup.

My G2 was already a 32 GB, and space was already cramped. Anything smaller than a 64 GB (or Micro SD) was pretty much a non-starter, though I didn't feel like paying what amounts to  rent on a phone either. Just because I like Apple's devices doesn't mean I have to like their prices.

Jokes aside, what do you store on your phone?? For me I admit 16GB was too small, but 32GB is way too much for my personal usage. Probably because I don't play any mobile games... and I don't take a lot of pictures.

True that. But at our work, our IT no longer allows Android phones to connect to company emails and files because of the lack of security updates for a lot of Android phones. Other than that, I like the iPhone for what it can do very well. I just don't think they'll be shipping an iPhone with SD card readers anytime soon

My first phone is the Samsung Galaxy S2 in which I bought back in 2011 (2 months after its release) and was then replaced by LG V20 which I bought in December 2016. 5 years as my daily driver with that phone and still runs fine. Reason I switched to V20 because the S2 gotten really slow with the apps I frequently use (especially Chrome) even after installing custom ROMs, also the audio and video capabilities of V20 attracted me a lot . But the S2 is still running fine, just not as a daily driver with current apps that is resource hungry.

The first smartphone I ever used was a Nokia N70 back in the day. Yes, that was back when smartphones had keypads and were more like glorified dumbphones.

 

As for the modern candybar touchscreen form factor, the first one I’ve used was the iPhone 3G and 3GS. I joined Team Android with the Galaxy S2 and have been exclusively with them with the Galaxy S3, HTC One M7, LG G3 (rip), LG G4 (RIP), Galaxy Note 7 (RIP in explosions) and my current Moto Z. However, I’ve been considering switching back to iOS as of late.
