Swapping between integrated graphics and dedicated graphics

Hi,

I am thinking about getting a gaming laptop but I need it to also have battery life.
If I get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card, can I turn it off and use the integrated graphics?

Would I be able to switch between integrated and dedicated easily, as in I want to play games now so dedicated but i have class now to integrated?

Would this extend the battery life of the computer?

I am thinking of something like the Razer Blade, which has both types of graphics processors.

Thanks

not how it works, laptop automatically switches depending on the task, nvidia optimus. razer blade is a bad choice due to poor quality control and overheating, i suggests something like the Aero 14 or 15.

yes you can. Most laptops come with it set so it only uses the dedicated GPU when a game is running or when it needs it

Laptop switches automatically. You don't have to flip a switch to do so.

As said before in here, the laptop will automatically switch between dedicated and integrated graphics,

and as far as i have noticed the dedicated graphics don't really turn on other then when you really need them, and you will never notice the fact that they don't run all the time.

But do know even with that, "battery" and "gaming laptop" are two things that don't mix well, so don't expect 8 hour battery life.
