First build for work/gaming

Hey all, I'm trying to build a new pc since my old one is on its last legs and hoped for some advice before spending on stuff I might regret.

Location: I am from Canada, so everything is in $CAD, and the budget is roughly around the 2k mark (ie. a couple hundred above $2000 is fine).

Aim: I'm planning on doing various kinds of programming (mobile/desktop apps, a bunch of different languages, etc...) on this machine for school/fun (though, to be honest, I'm not really sure what qualifies as good specs for coding... my current machine couldn't run Android Studio when I needed it, so I'm sure there's a minimum somewhere). I also plan on running some games on it (stuff like Civilization V and some MMO's, nothing that would require too much power a la Witcher 3 or Dark Souls, though if minor upgrades could run those games as well, that would be swell :^) ).

Most of the entire pc needs to be built from the ground up: only salvageable parts are my mouse, keyboard, speakers/headset, wireless adapter* (it's a TP-LINK adapter from 2010, so that can go if any of you think it should) as well as my terabyte HDD.

Current list: This was a tentative build I came up with:

Intel - Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

Asus - H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Kingston - HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Kingston - SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Asus - GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card

NZXT - S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case

HEC - 485W ATX Power Supply

Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (If older versions of Windows are recommended, I'll gladly consider them as well :^) )

Philips - 246V5LHAB/27 24.0" 1920x1080 60Hz Monitor ---- For monitors, I've grown really comfortable with dual screens, but they don't need to be anything fancy, just something that won't hurt my eyes if I stare at it for hours on end and can play 1080p at 60 frames.

I've never built a pc, so while I know what all the parts do, I'm not sure how they'll interact with each other and whether or not I'll encounter bottle-necking.

Reasons to upgrade: My current monolith is just a very old relic built maybe a decade ago and it's got a foot in the grave.

If anyone needs any more information, I'll only be able to answer in about 20 hours from making this post.

Thanks for taking the time to read through all this, I appreciate all of your time :)
