2. Goal

To accomplish project by spending  $800-$1500 on new PC, spending more later for a VR Headset

A Gaming PC that can Game and Emulate 4k, a minimum of  60 fps, and gaming with VR.

Ability to Emulate GameCube, Wii, Wii U, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, and future emulators.

I also want to get a cool-looking case to hold it in and maybe a wall mount?

 

3. Eviorment

Decor ideas lighting posters ext., Wire Managment, Controller stand, Headset Stand

 

4. Components

(just ideas, nothing here is concrete)

NIvidia 1080 ROG STRIX
Intel Core i5 4690K or higher

For the system, I'd recommend a Ryzen 1600, GTX 1080(Ti?) and only 16GB RAM.

I would highly recommend you get an Intel processor. AMDs virtualization and emulation features are simply not as reliable as Intel's especially for the Dolphin emulator. The more cores the merrier!

I'm not sure if "Devices" are products you already own, or if they are products that you're wanting to get.

 

 

Actually, emulating works better with more cores.

That doesn't seem to be the case for me.  Are you referring to a specific emulator?  Or is this supposed to be across the board?

 

Edit: Dolphin runs on a maximum of 3 cores https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/faq/#couldnt-dolphin-use-more-my-cpu-cores-go-faster
