iOS 10 Slow Download

Murilo_A

In order to install Google Drive in my iPhone 5 I had to upload to the iOS 10 since it requires iOS 9 or newer, and I haven't updated it since 8, but the problem is, it's taking too much to download, I have a 100Mb connection, and the speed is pretty much normal for all the other devices, it has been downloading for almost 5 hours, and it's only in half of the download, is not showing a correct estimated time, I've 30 min and 16 hours, it's not constant, also tried iTunes, which would take 30 hours (at least the estimated time was constant).

Has to be to download an update...

As a reply to the original question, sounds like your internet is slow AF if iTunes will take 30 hours. Run to Starbucks, download and install it, and come home.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

I wasn't sure if it was able to be downloaded without Wi-Fi.

I cant see a reason why it'd take 30 hours. the IPSW files arent large enough to require that much time with 97 kbs down.

Maybe try reinstalling iTunes?

Anyway, I don't think it's iTunes fault, since on the phone it has been 5 hours and it downloaded only half of the update

When you said, I tried changing to the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, it has gone from 16 minutes, then to 15, 13, 12 and now it's 5, but it's still on half of the download =P

If its on 5 now, that's not as bad as 30 hours?

It's saying 5 minutes left for more than 10 minutes, and the download bar didn't move a single pixel

I noticed now that the bar is not only download, now it's updating, apparently Apple doesn't like 5GHz Wi-Fi, anyway, thanks everyone =)
