Updated Asus ROG Crosshair VI X370 with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth will be in stores in a couple of weeks

About one-and-a-half week ago I stumbled across this section of the Asus homepage which shows an updated version of the very popular Crosshair VI X370 motherboard; now with pre-added Wi-Fi/Bluetooth capabilities. As many owners of the Crosshair VI have noticed, there were already indicators where the antenna-holes in the backplate were to be located, and the mobo had a hidden M.2 slot for the wireless module beneath the rear I/O-shield. So really, it was just a question of WHEN Asus would bring the complete version to market. Other than the added wireless-module, the mobo is identical to the current version.

Interested in this board, I started searching the Internet and Asus webpage for possible stores to buy it from. But there were none to be found. So to still my hunger for this "complete version" of the mobo, I sent an e-mail to Asus asking them when and where I could buy the new version:

They replied somewhat fast and here is the message that pretty much confirms that it will launch very soon:

So there you have it! I thought I'd share this so if anyone was thinking of getting this board with an additional Wi-Fi-PCI-e module, you might just wait a few weeks until this baby hits the stores!

I just wish the Taichi would have had a more neutral color-scheme. I cannot stand that weird white logo on the Taichi. I also want Asus Aura to sync with GPU. But Taichi also have 2x USB3.0 headers ALONG with 2x USB2.0 headers, wheras the Crosshair only has 1x USB2.0 header. Even their new Strix x370 have 2x USB2.0 headers. Would have been nice to see that added to this new version as well.

i find it weird that asus has such an emphasis on the intel platform, is that because of how AMD released ryzen? i mean if you look at the intel 2xx boards they generally are a lot more diverse even directly after launch of 2xx. i always feel like they don't have real luxury boards with their armor stuff like they do on intel, they didn't have any of that on the AM platforms either.

A bit off-topic, but I find it weird that the Strix-mobos have less in common with their Strix GPUs than the ROG does... The Crosshair and the Strix-GPU coolers look like a match made in heaven.

Also, does anyone believe there will be a TUF-version for Ryzen and/or Threadripper? like "tlink" said above, it is weird that Asus is so slow with launching AMD-mobos, whilst having a brand new TUF X299 ready on launch-day (Computex) for Intel...

Depends on which Strix you're talking about. The newer Strix cooler matches perfectly with their Strix mobo.

The problem isn't Asus, but with AMD, holding important information on Ryzen until the very last minute where all motherboard manufactures, didn't have time to make motherboards and verify them before the official launch date.

Meeh... Not really.

Look here; here is the 1080 Ti Strix:

The color and the angles and entire design resembles the Crosshair VI design language much more...

rs7hRgrlHjGTywxg_setting_000_1_90_end_50

...than compared to the Strix mobo with its very light-gray/silver accents, and a very weird-looking chipset. Also far less angular design.
