WIDEST monitor evah' || By Samsung

THE_maverick

So for those of us that have 3 screens for work but hate having the edges of each monitor get in the way, as much as dealing with 3 power bricks, etc...  FEAR NOT!!!  Samsung has us covered.

I am sure Linus already has one on his desk and he has just been keeping it secret from us.

Also, yes gamerz it does play gamez at high refresh rate...

Probably setting up a triple setup using these.

:ETA:

What's I'd be going nutz over though would be a 32:9  1440p screen. Still less than a 4k pixel-wise and I have a card that can run it pretty well.

No.

It's for people with double monitors, who don't want the middle bezel.

Not designed to sell volumes to the mainstream.

It's pretty much 2 24" 1080p monitors made of a single panel.

I can actually see a use for that in certain setups. I can also see a use for stacking two of those.

OR... you could just buy like 5 1080p screens for still less money. The resolution is too low and the price is too high. The 144hz super-duper-mega ultrawide is pretty cool though. But like I said... $1500 for basically two 1080p screens? Nope

That's an F in the profile pic

two monitors is better than one of these monitors IMO for productivity or gaming

you can have a game fullscreened on monitor 1 , and on monitor 2 you can have some other shit like discord

or, you can have video editor on monitor 1 and then on monitor 2 you can have your files/chrome/whatever

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

Should've been 2 1440p screens.

At the point of needing more desktop realestate you're going to be needing more monitors anyways. Having one over sized monitor doesn't help if you need even more space. Also, people really bitch about bezels for no reason, seriously.

This thing is dumb, it really is.

I could see using this monitor from a business perspective, but I hate the borders so much. It would drive me insane.

Going on a productivity use case, I would find two monitors more beneficial than one of the same resolution, because I can easily arrange four windows across the screens (That good ol Win + Left/Right). I'm not sure if there's any native way to do the same thing on wider aspect ratios and I kind of don't want to install software that makes that feature available.

I dont think anyone could run that. And this panel being 144hz ontop of that.. lol

2 x 2560 x 1440 = 7.6 Million Pixels

3840 x 2160 = 8.3 Million Pixels

So less demanding than 4K, and a 1080Ti could probably drive some games at that refresh rate, although it would be extremely hard.

a very disappointing 1080p res for basically 2 27" monitors? (yes i did the math ;))

Not very much resolution for this monitor size. If I would have the choice between two 1440p screens (which I easily could get for the money) and this thing I would take the 1440p monitors, 27" and FHD is a nogo

Useless and awkward. Just buy a 1440p or 4k monitor. This is literally just half of a 49" 4k monitor.

It's 1080p, which means it will look like complete garbage for no tangible benefit.

and honestly if this is how it's supposed to be used

You could even play a game on one half on the screen and keep the other half open for something else.

two separate monitors would do the job much better.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
