29UM68-P gets my vote, just make sure you get display port cables so you can rock it at 80~90hz refresh rate.

If you're in the US, EVGA is selling the FE 980 Ti for $200 (marked down from $689 or something), but they're all out of stock now. I'm ordering one as soon as they get back in stock.

You said UK, right? Is it on sale there as well? 'Cause it's an awesome deal. Everyone who answered my thread asking whether it was worth it says it has 1070 performance.

Yeah height is on the low side for 29" ultrawide screens but  a lot of it depends on how far do you sit, where in the room its placed and stuff like that, 34" Is usually ideal for ultrawide screens but I would only recommend 1440p 34" monitors.

It is as tall as 24inches 16:9 monitors, but with much more side space, I'm biased though after I tried 21:9 aspect ratio for the first time I NEVER wanted to go back again... it feels so much better and compatibility no longer is an issue nowadays... the 29UM68-P I actually have 2 of them, I love their price-to-performance, awesome IPS Matte panel sRBG99% makes picture quality unquestionable, 2560x1080p sweeeeetest spot is 29 inches as you get a godlike pixel density... Over all it is an excellent choice to any one wanting a "cheap but great" ultrawide experience.

Well first thing is deciding whether you want to stick to the old standard 16:9 ratio or you would like to get into the brand new 21:9 ratio, if you're really willing to go Ultrawide but can not afford an Acer x34 then the logical purchase is the 29UM68-P considering the offers on the market.

IMHO 27in is too big for 1080p. Idk your experience with 27in monitors but they are huge. I had been using dual 27in 1440p monitors for years and I just recently downgraded to a 25 and a 24in from dell. Right now I have a Dell 25in 1440p in landscape and a Dell 24in 1200p in portrait to my side. I was getting sick of turning my head a lot with massive monitors on my desk. The Dell 25in is a amazing panel and the pixel density is better than a regular 1440p 27in.
