HP Omen adds VEGA 10 graphics

Some HP product images are floating around the web, where it shows their new Omen desktop will have a few choices of graphic configurations for the buyer to choose from. They can either select dual GTX 1080s, RX480 or RX 580 or a single AMD VEGA 10. Only a single VEGA 10 vs dual 1080s or RX480/580, probably tells us there might not be enough supplies?

And other products is their HP Accelerator and 2 new Omen laptops.

either Vega 10 is really powerfull or its really expensive -_- probably the latter seeing as its HBM2

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

And all these external graphic cards look like mini-itx systems. I wonder If I can build my own external gpu just using basic computer parts along with a thunderbolt 3 connector.

I'm sure 2 is a number and the letter C stands for something Century or 100.

Yes but their marketing material is interesting nonetheless ! 

(By the way, dual 580 is close to 1080 territory and 2×1080 close to 1080ti? Haven't seen much results on dual gpu setups )

Two 1080s are a fair amount more powerful than a 1080 Ti (don't know by how much, but I know it's by quite a lot).

Then we could expect vega to either be as powerful or to be a middle ground between that and dual 580=1080, so 1080ti. At least that would make sense.

So.. VEGA >= 1080, not too helpful :P

The really reassuring path is that Vega is being advertised a lot in systems, meaning they should hopefully be on track :)

I wouldn't keep my hopes up. Just assume it to be about a 1070, then be pleasantly surprised or correct when benchmarks come out from reputable reviewers.

Omen was a line of system made by boutique system builder Voodoo PC, the founder's name is Rahul Sood. Back then it was either them or Alienware. Dell acquired Alienware and HP being the competitor to Dell needed a gaming division too, so they went and acquired Voodoo PC. HP's first gaming system after acquiring Voodoo PC is the HP Blackbird 002.

it will be at the very least 1080 perf, there is no way its around 1070 perf, unless you are talking about the cut down version
