Warning: The UK PM calling for near total regulation of the internet

Old news for the most part, this was part of the conservative's agenda that they announced about a week or two back now that caused them to plummet in public support. Theresa May is no different from conservatives of the past, and that same toxic, elitist attitude spilled out a bit with these last few publications from the right in the UK. Wanting to remove the ban on ivory, legalize fox hunting again, and bring down near complete control of the internet shows that they haven't changed at all, they just happen to feel very strongly about two things, brexit and immigration. That's why they have majority support right now, nothing else, literally nothing else. If not for their outspokenness on those issues then they wouldn't be in the position they are now.

And who's the solution? Labor ain't any better for other stuff and no one can do maths. Libdem might be the best bet but they do not have enough support

So scenario when we get nuclear winter: bombs go off, then it all look grey/black from outside earth but fire is underneath.

What would happen on the ISS? Beginning scientists they would likely do something logical even if ordered by their state to do otherwise but I can just imagine them holding each other hostage with screw drivers eta.

10$ say astronauts will starve to death before the ISS comes crashing down, that or China preemptively nukes the ISS first

Don't they have guns on the ISS?

I have no idea but that would seam like a big risk to security and safety as one person could take down everyone really easily. And bullet holes in a space station are not that good... plus added weight to take up for something that should never be used up there. I might google it.

libdem is so very far from the best... They're not even grounded in reality at this point with their manifesto.

No one is good, neither party, don't get me wrong I wasn't praising the conservatives in any way, they just happen to be the best chance the UK has at getting a fair deal in Brexit and locking down immigration to stop any more of these monsters from getting into the country and radicalizing it further.

Labour might work, but Corbyn absolutely has to step down he's killing the party and everyone outside of his cult of personality knows it. May is the only chance the UK has at not spinelessly accepting what ever the world throws at them, however unfortunate that fact is...

still happening, seems like Trump's victory made schools, colleges and universities go harder on the brainwashing in the name of love (insert ministry of love reference here)

Fucking Christ, the horridness of the indoctrination camps that are modern colleges kinda scare me. Not that I won't go to college, but when you have a college like Harvard having black-only graduations or UCBerkeley students who belong to the ironically named Antifa destroying their campus over Milo, it makes you wonder "what the hell".

So does that mean you fear your government more?

I fear not my government. I have the knowledge and understanding of my right to deny it the tyranny it seeks. UK citizens should have the same.

What if 'terrorists' use VPN and some other DNS server? Whoopsie do

Awareness is key. Never enough, even in the face of futility. Speak the truth as if you may never get to say it again. This world is full of ugly. Change it they say. The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

Solutions start in the next election cycle. Notice that all of the major Western leaders have very specific "group" beliefs? It isn't an accident, as all have been groomed from lower positions, but have to follow the Narrative.  Trillions of dollars involved in it all, along with interior & exterior forces.  Absolutely massive amount of personal interests involved, but it only works so long as the Narrative holds.

The lower-down will repeat the mantras, but the higher ups know it's all BS. Terrorism is in the West because it was intentionally imported. The entire post-Cold War geopolitical landscape is filled with pretty big lies, so the point that our "Elites" are, for all intents & purposes, against their own people.  If they can take an action to increase their control and limit the power of their citizens, they'll take it.  They also are working very hard to replace their populations with more controllable people.

20 years ago talking about this stuff would have seemed nuts (plus the technology just didn't exist).  Now? If you're paying attention, you can predict the reactions of major segments of the population to certain actions. When the "leaders" work very hard to bring in more people that openly want you dead, you can only ignore that reality for so long.  It's going to be a bloody century.

Uh what? So to prevent terrorism, they're going to make it hard to access porn? That doesn't seem quite right... Good thing I'm not in the UK, I wouldn't be happy with the government recording everything I do (at least, more than is already happening).

The "Conservative" party in the UK smokes some hard crack.

Same with most countries really. Anything that isn't super central is getting pretty extreme these days.

Our (NZ) election is coming up, and I'm definitely voting for our ACT party, simply because it emphasises the reduction of state control over the individual. I'm pretty well over people telling me what I can and can't do with my life, my body or my information. At this stage, we're all pretty much born into slavery and as soon as we become unhappy with the status quo, the higher ups crack down on our freedom and constrain us further.

They manufacture fear to keep us scared and obedient (first Soviets, then terrorists), because we all know that a scared population is easier to control.

If you're genuinely afraid that a minority group is going to kill you or your loved ones, eventually you'll welcome a larger military, heavily armed police on the streets etc etc. Anything to maintain "order". And that's how it starts off. Then you get people putting on their nice brown shirts, marching up and down the street and "arresting" people who shake things up, even a little. And people will accept this, because they're scared of a problem manufactured to gain control.

All that regulation will likely do is make it harder for intelegence agencies to track and monitor criminal and terror communication, as it will force people into more hidden and encrytped means of communication.

it won't likely affect those being targeted for recruitment either.
