Only ever call it names if I'm pissed of with it... which are normal names of profanity...

My network names for my PCs are from Scott Pilgrim characters. lol

I name it names from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. My main rig is called Deep Thought

I always call them "Eva-Gate", which stands for "Evangelion Gate", since I really loved Evangelion as a kid, even more than Gundam.

I also put a roman number to distinguish them, in chronological order. For example my next build (last components will be delivered in a few days) will be named Eva-Gate IV.

Silly, I know, but I like it nonetheless :D

I usually don't talk to my computer, but the network name is "Zonta, lord of the underworld" (weird story from the last lan party :D)

Desktop: WIN8-22 (PC's are on 192.168.16.x, so this PC is Windows 8 with ip 192.168.16.22)

Laptop: WIN7-23 (Windows 7 with ip 192.168.16.23)

Storage server: WINS2012-71 (Storage is on 192.168.7.x, So this server runs Windows Server 2012 on ip 192.168.7.1)

Router: Sense (This one is the only odd one in my network, it runs PFSense, so simply "Sense")

I've named mine Jenson. Only because it seems like the "intellegent butler" type name, and my CPU is like my right hand man around the house ;) lol

When i am talking to it, its usually because its not working to just any swear word. Sometimes there are some odd ones. Ill leave it to your imaginations

it's my unit. and no, that is not meant in a dirty way. it's network name is my name, because it is my unit. i have built hundreds of units for other people, this one is mine.

I like to have some background in my computer's names.

My first computer was Janus, the Roman god for beginnings.

The one I use now is Renee, the french word for reborn

Dekstop: Sandy Mountain

Netbook: Sandy Beach

Laptop: Sandy Creek

Server: Sandy Hill

If you haven't got it yet, it's a play on the Sandybridge name. All but the netbook are SB based computers. Made sense.

All of my previous PCs were named "NAVIx" where x was a number denoting which PC it was in chronological order of all of my past PCs. However, when I upgraded to the Sandy Bridge platform I decided to break tradition and name my current PC "Sandra".
