Posted June 14, 2017 used to use day theme because of how many posts are broken for the night theme but its gotten a bit better so i switched. its much nicer on the eyes to me I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays... nothing, it just sits there collecting dust... Builds: The Toaster Project! Northern Bee! The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0) Spoiler "Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life. #1. Treat others as you would like to be treated. #2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt. #3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place. Follow these simple rules in life, and I promise you, things magically get easier. Posted June 15, 2017 1 hour ago, JDE said: But... There are 422,603 registered users right now, which means there are ~42,000 using the night theme. How many active users does this site really have? As @Princess Cadence said, there will be a lot of one-time users among the 422K. The 1% figure underestimates the fraction of active users on the night theme (since day theme is the default). At the same time, as @dalekphalm pointed out, users will self-select into answering this poll. Hence, we'll get the results from a non-random sample which may not be representative not only of the whole population of people who ever created an account, but not even of the currently active users (regardless of how you define "active" for this purpose). In the end, it depends on what you are trying to find out: the raw number was provided by @colonel_mortis, so if that's what you want, that's the answer. If you want to know which fraction of your readers will be on the night theme when you create a thread, I'd dare to say the actual number will be somewhere in between that 1% and the final outcome of this poll. Which is a huge range I also expect it to be different from subforum to subforum, but who knows. In any case, it will never hurt to click that convenient "remove formatting" button that always shows up when you paste something...
 If you post on the forum it is by default of being a responsible/respectable person to make sure that you are being respectful and inclusive to the forum as a whole. Meaning making sure that you format your posts so that the post appears for both Day and Night theme users. So it is obligatory for the poster to do so and verify it when posting. Otherwise your [in general not specifically] lazy and disrespectful IMO and I am sure more than half the regulars would agree with this point. Its just like posting in the news section you must meet a requirement to post there so same as anywhere else. Plus in the CS it states to be respectful to the forum so IMO it is necessary to do this. That still does not justify harassment and threatening other users. Does the punishment fit the crime? I would never condone harassment in life or in the forum and my reply was not meant to justify another's actions, besides it is against CS to harass others.
