1060 bottleneck?

It depends on too many factors for us to definitely say "yes" or "no". If you're getting a 1060, make sure you get the 6GB version.

I'm speaking rhetorically, by the way. this is meant more to make you think. You shouldn't suffer from a bottleneck, you shouldn't worry about bottlenecks (unless you're taking extremes like a dual-core Xeon or slowest quad-core possible with a 1080 Ti), and you shouldn't downgrade the GPU just because a few of today's games are held back since they will get tougher to drive in the coming months.

To answer your question: yes, you will have some bottlenecks.

Would I still go for the 1060 6GB? Yes, I would because I don't let one or two AAA games stop me from making a better or more balanced purchase.

H61 can support an i7-3770 with a BIOS update...calm down...and a 3770 handle a GTX 780ti/1060/980 or R9 390/390X/RX 470/480/RX 570/580 for 1080p gaming it's awesome perfect!

a 3770 can handle a gtx 1070 and 1080 in most scenarios.

GTAV, BF1, and Some Other Games would be GPU-dependent aside from a few areas in GTAV like the beach/boardwalk and shopping district.

WD2 would be CPU-dependent as it likes fast cores for single-threaded functions and the AI engine loves as many cores as it can take.

for 2560x1440 or greater, AAA titles, absolutely. 80FPS+ very high/ultra

1080P GTX 1060/ RX 480/580 or R9 390/390X or Fury.

 

390X or Fury/X with a 1440p Freesync monitor is a nice upgrade path with a i7-3770

Increase resolution buy buying a 1440 monitor or employ DSR to get the most out of your GPU for CPU-dependent programs.

otherwise yes get the GPU and consider a CPU upgrade for the future i'd say.

you want an ivy bridge core i5 minimum (ideally) for a GTX 1060

or a i7-2600 sandy bridge...an i5-2500 woul get you by as well

also...GTX 1060 is 3GB or 6GB...not 4GB...

okay guys so if getting 1060 will cause bottleneck on 3240. i still have 2 options, MSI GTX 980 and Palit 1050Ti . i need specific answer for both gpu said.

1060 6GB: Newer, more VRAM, and a bit faster than the 980 in some titles. 

980: SLI-capable, less VRAM (but core craps out before VRAM becomes an issue), and can still hold its own.

1050 Ti: Please don't...

if an i5 sandy or ivy bridge and a GTX 980 or GTX 1060 (any of them) can fit in the budget i'd vote for that all day long...otherwise maybe an RX 470/480...or R9 390...used...if you have a good PSU...the first GPUs arent that hot but R9 390/390X offer similar performance for usually less $ used but they consume quite a bit of power which turns into heat to dissipate which turns into fan noise and hot gaming room and all that jazz.

Depends on the game. BF1 might give your CPU trouble, but GTAV would trouble the GPU. 

 

I wouldn't worry too much about bottlenecks since you're balancing the build. Gamers Nexus has a nice video on the G4560 (basically an i3 in practice) and how it stacks with GPU's. The 1060/580 are great matches while the 1070 is a good match (but not for the cost disparity) and the 1080 isn't a great value for what you get back.

yes in most AAA titles it will...get a quad core that is a direct drop in to your motherboard, you might need to do a BIOS update first on H61 to support ivy bridge chips. i would recommend getting a cheap ''used GTX 970/R9 390 more or less GPU'' now. (780/780ti/970/980/1060 or 290/290X/390/390X/470/480/570/580 etc.. and saving money for an ivy bridge quad core in the near future.
