Odd NZXT warranty request - destroy your actual heatsink

Is this for real or this guy is having fun with me? xD

Since Canada is technically international, we cannot receive your x61 and send you a new one.

The procedure is a bit different in the fact that you need to destroy the old x61. By this I mean you can smash it, cut the tubes or somehow break it to where it does not function anymore, and send me a picture with your name on a piece of paper.

Noctua does that too. You snap off a blade and take a picture and they send you a new one.

Dude...you have so much freedom. What are you going to do to it?

Anticlimactic ending, sadly. I'm no expert, but this ain't worth big eBay bucks anymore. Slightly defective in the first place. :P

It's not odd, it keeps people from committing fraud. The cost to refurbish the unit likely isn't worth what it would cost for them to receive it, so instead it's destroyed. What do you think happens to 90% of the items you return to a retail store?
