What's the point of a flashlight app in Google Play when you can manually toggle flashlight in notification tray, yeah it's nice having something that toggles on and off every second but I don't really see a point apart from that?

We all jest, my father still uses his flash light app because that's the only way he knows how to turn it on. He gets lost in "all those updates" and he's only in his early 50's. It was worth it for him to buy a $2 app with my itunes money and not worry about where to slide for "that button".

depending on the age of your phone it might not have a flashlight toggle, pretty sure my dads S5 required an app to get that function, I know my old Razr Maxx did and I want to say my LG G3 did, but not sure on that one (it may have been added in an update).

Might depend on the Android version. My LG G3 is on 6.01 and I don't need a flash light app ;)

looks like the native flashlight app was added in Android 5.0, so the G3 I had must have had it from day 1, it's been a while, plus some folks are just used to having a toggle on the homepage instead of searching the pull down.

tbh, most other apps are games that i dont care about, skins that looks ugly and for wallpaper I have a collection of photos I take on my phone and they are pretty nice.

Some phones don't actually have a flashlight toggle in their Notification Tray because the manufacturer is retarded. Most should if running Android 6 or higher though, but for those running 4 or 5 it's really a guessing game. My Note 3 is still running 4.4.2 because I've been too lazy to install a custom ROM despite being rooted, and it has no flashlight toggle anywhere in the OS. I literally have to have a 3rd party app to access it, or open the camera and enable flash during "video recording" because logic. Dumbfounded logic.
