Delta PSUs??

jappypack

What are the delta used power supplies that people seem to mention? Is this one of them?:

Would this power it? (With a molex-gpu pin adapter?)

It's a Delta Electronics server PSU so the build quality and performance should be rather solid... but it's a server power supply so it's going to be loud as hell.

I'm not convinced spending 18 quid on a PSU is a good idea anyway, especially if you're running a i5-2500K and a power-hungry GTX 780Ti. Fork out some more for a Seasonic S12II or a Corsair CX450M.

If you have to use of these, probably not. You shouldn't have to adapt to get the right plugs, especially if they're going to be plugged into a graphics card that's still worth a solid £150 or so.

CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 @4.4GHz Motherboard: Intel DX79TO | Graphics Card: XFX RX 480 RS RAM:  16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR3 @ 1600MHz Sound: Asus Xonar Essence STX | Storage: 1x Kingston UV400 120GB | 1x 3TB Seagate Barracuda | 1x WD Green 1TB | PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W | Case: NZXT S340 White | Cooling: NZXT Kraken x31

In theory, it should work. As long as the PSU can supply enough power to the card.

Should you do it? Hell no! A second hand cheap ass PSU with some janky adapters just to save a few bucks? Don't come crying if it takes out your whole rig or your house burns down.

Does you mum know you're here?

Agreed, but up the wattage to 520W for the S12 or 550 for the CXM since 780 Tis are very power hungry.
