Video editing laptop for a traveller

Guest

Hey guy's, I have been looking for the past month for a good laptop which will fit my needs.

These are the things I do on my laptop:
Video editing

hahaha, so yeah xp I travel a lot so it has to be portable and not weigh too much so it can fit in my carry on for planes as for I travel very often.
My video editing software and my style of video editing don't require me to have a graphic card at all. So a gpu sollution on the cpu would do more than fine.
I am not looking for crazy rendering times. but decent rendering times are good enough. I also need at least 8 GB ram.

My budget is around 1000 Euro but there is wiggle room to expand that budget.

i hope somebody can help me with this ^_^

This would be a good option, but at 2.4 kg it is slightly to heavy for me, I prefer something under 2 kg for travelling as that is the left over weight I normally have in my backpack. But the 6mb smart cache would be helpfull for my style of video editing

What about this one?

Since you don't need extra fancy thing, get basic laptop with an i5 or i7 with no Gpu

because I sense that you already know what you want, get yourself a macbook.

A macbook is not something I really want because I don't want to switch OS. Also I prefer to have decent hardware with a decent OS and not mediocre hardware with a good OS ^^"

but that's exactly the drawbacks

powerful hardware most of time little bit more heavier.

Sometimes you can't have it both ways.

But there's plenty option for laptop like that

eg: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834332304&ignorebbr=1

or i7 version: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834331541&ignorebbr=1

both less than 2Kg.

I would go with this Asus Zenbook UX330UA - it has i7 7500U, ssd, full hd screen, backlit keyboard and weights just 1.2 kg (on german amazon they say its 2.3 but everywhere else its 1.2)

macbooks may be good quality, but are they sure worth the high price?
I have considered a mac but I am not sure if it will be worth it to spend so much and also get used to a new OS.
If I would go I woud go for a macbook air

and what about these: http://www.dell.com/be/p/inspiron-15-5567-laptop/pd?ref=PD_Family

Final Cut Pro is one of the few video editing applications that make use of Quicksync for acceleration, which means a very great deal on low power hardware. Though if you use anything else, the Mac loses it's biggest advantage.
