Maximus IX Hero vs STRIX Z270E

Hi Guys!

Out of these two boards which do you consider better or would recommed for buying?

ROG Maximus IX Hero - $215

ROG Strix Z270E Gaming - $190

Besides the $25 difference, which do you think will be more suitable for a 7700K and a 1080ti FE? I've seen the specs on Asus' webiste but cannot find huge differences besides RAM speed (4133 vs 3866), USB internal ports (1 vs 2) and back usb ports.

Would appreciatte all kinds of help or comments, specially if you got one of these boards.

Thanks in advance and have a great weekend!

It really doesn't matter which one you go for, at the end of the day they still both use the Z270 chipset.

I really can't tell you which board to buy. They're both pretty much the same - just get whatever appeals to you more.

Z270E has WiFi, IX does not. So I would get that, as it is also cheaper

If you're concerned with getting everything out of the 7700k that you can, the Hero may be your better option as it has a better power delivery.  Other than that, it's a back and forth.

Check out this guide from Asus themselves as it may aid you in your decision.

I have the Z270E, its a great board, no problems OCing with it. Included Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is a nice bonus. If your more of a "casual" overclocker you'll be fine, but if you want to go more balls to the wall like @done12many2 here, and go to the extremes of overclocking, take the Maximus IX Hero. They should more or less serve you the same under less rigorous conditions.
