Is this a good Ryzen PC build?

So I'm about to build my first gaming PC and I was wondering if the build I have setup is doable?

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RR2HZ8

One thing that I wanted to point out is the power supply. Will 550W cut it for this build? I do not plan to overclock or anything of that nature. I'm just planning to use this as an productivity machine with some 1080p gaming on the side. Also how about the RAM? Will 2400Mhz cut it? From what I've heard Ryzen works better with faster RAM, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the Corsair Vengeance LPX memory which cost a lot. I know that LPX is faster and stuff like that but I just didn't feel like paying that much for it. Also, is it possible to install Windows 7 on Ryzen? I've seen that some people managed to get it working on Ryzen CPUs.

I,d get the 1600 instead.

PC part picker tells you the estimated consumption in the top right, so estimate is 350w, 550w is more than enough

Yeah I know that, I just wanted to confirm this because someone told me 550W is not enough.

Linus did a TQ on that very subject...sort of...its on Floatplane right now

plus PSU's are usually less efficient the lower power consumption vs rating that you have in use (happy spot is somewhere in the middle of the range different ones have different sweet spots) corsair has a good piece here http://www.corsair.com/en-us/blog/2012/august/80-plus-platinum-what-does-it-mean-and-what-is-the-benefit-to-me

Swap the 1600x with a 1600, and get a RX 580 instead with the money you save.

Get 1600 instead, I believe you can get 3000 MHz ram at that price, and with money saved on 1600 you could either get a 580 or get a slightly cheaper 570 and get a 120gb ssd.

I got an SSD, although I couldn't find it listed on PCPartpicker for some reason.

Note though, are you aware the cost of the cooler isn't being factored into the cost of the pc?

The 1600 has a good enough cooler if OP does not want to overclock all the way to 4GHz.

Yeah ik, but what if they want to push it as far as possible and want something a bit quieter? :)

Not arguing with that :) In that case then go ahead with a better cooler ^^

Tho is it possible to install Windows 7 on Ryzen? From what I've heard it should work with the exception that you won't receive any updates and stuff like that. Also I think I saw somewhere AMD did release Ryzen drivers for W7.

It's possible, but a bit difficult. If you want a good guide on it Anandtech made a pretty good one.
